Erling Haaland’s Impact on Modern Football
Haaland’s per-90 minute goal ratio is the highest in Europe’s top five leagues since 1945 among players with a minimum of 50 games. His combination of height, strength, and off-the-ball movement makes him difficult to defend. While he can hold off defenders physically, his movement in the penalty area is widely regarded as his greatest asset. Injury history, particularly muscle strains, has been a minor concern, and Manchester City manage his playing time carefully. At 25, he is on pace to break multiple all-time Premier League scoring records if he remains at the club. Transfer speculation persists, but given his long contract, any move would require a record-breaking fee.
