Is Liza Tarbuck Married? Who Is Her Husband?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions about Liza Tarbuck, and the answer requires careful handling of contradictory sources. A single claim on social media suggests she married producer Allan McKeown in 1983 and had two children. However, this claim is directly contradicted by multiple interviews Tarbuck has given over two decades.
What Liza Tarbuck Has Said About Marriage and Children
In a 2003 interview with The Standard, Tarbuck stated: “I’m happy enough… I’ve just not met anyone I want to have babies with.” In a 2023 interview with woman&home, she confirmed she does not have children, adding that “she always imagined she would have.” She described herself as “frighteningly self-contained.” Digital Spy forum users and other observers have also noted that she appears “permanently single” and has never been married.
The most consistent and recent information from reputable interviews supports the claim that Liza Tarbuck is single and has no children. The claim of a marriage to Allan McKeown with two children appears to be incorrect or a confusion with another person, as it directly contradicts her own public statements spanning two decades.
Liza Tarbuck’s Family Background
She is the middle child of comedian Jimmy Tarbuck and Pauline Tarbuck. She has an older sister, Cheryl, and a younger brother, James. Her father, Jimmy Tarbuck, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2020 and has publicly stated he feels “great.”
What Happened to Liza Tarbuck on BBC Radio 2?
Contrary to some online speculation, Liza Tarbuck has not left BBC Radio 2. She continues to host her own show on Saturdays between 6pm and 8pm, a role she has held for more than nine years. There is no record of a 2025 departure from the station.
Why Do People Think She Left?
The confusion may stem from a broader trend of presenters stepping back from weekend radio to reclaim personal time. In February 2025, the BBC did announce that another presenter was leaving, but that announcement did not involve Tarbuck. She remains on the schedule and was also noted as a co-presenter for the show Pointless during 2024–2025.
Liza Tarbuck has not departed from BBC Radio 2. She continues to host her Saturday show between 6pm and 8pm, a role she has held for over nine years. No official announcement of a departure has been made.
What Is Liza Tarbuck Doing Now?
In addition to her radio work, Tarbuck is hosting The Great Celebrity Pottery Throwdown on Channel 4. Her win on Taskmaster in 2021 revitalized her public profile and introduced her to a new generation of viewers.
Is Liza Tarbuck Ill? Health Update
There is no public record of Liza Tarbuck suffering from a serious illness in 2025 or recently. The question appears to arise from a confusion with her father’s health. Jimmy Tarbuck was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2020 and has spoken publicly about his condition, stating he is “going to try and beat it.”
The false claim linking Liza Tarbuck to a marriage with Allan McKeown also incorrectly states that McKeown died of prostate cancer. This appears to be a confusion of details: the medical condition aligns with her father’s diagnosis, but the marriage and children attributed to Liza are not supported by any reliable evidence.
No credible source has reported that Liza Tarbuck is ill. The only health issue in her immediate family is her father Jimmy Tarbuck’s prostate cancer diagnosis in 2020, which he has publicly addressed.
